The Mountain unity in discussion, as Iria says he has the capacity to represent the region

The Mountain Journal

With the determination by Mountain leadership to explore better
ways to approach the general election, leaders are working towards rethinking
of holding a caucus focusing at the general election.

 The push has been agitated
by The Service Party  (TSP) Leader Mwangi
Kiunjuri, Martha Karua of Narc Kenya and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria of Chama
Cha Kazi (CCK)

The push for the new idea came following President Uhuru
Kenyatta holding a meeting with Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi and kalonzo
Musyoka in Mombasa State House, as the region felt being left outside despite its
8 million plus votes.

Ironically, Kiunjuri and Kuria have been allies of the Deputy
President William Ruto who is pursuing the Presidency agenda through his UDA party.

But in Mt Kenya region only
Murang’a Governor Mwangi wa Iria through his Usawa Kwa Wote Party has declared
interest to run for Presidency,  as others
had been following the footsteps of Ruto in the past two years.

Iria said  he has been holding meetings with Gema
leaders  in the past three years after he
realized there was a plot to disengage
the mountain from assuming  the
Presidency.

“ I founded my party immediately after the 2017 election  upon realization that there was a scheme  to stop leadership  from the mountain  from assuming the top seat after President
Kenyatta. There is no law that bars a Kikuyu from campaigning for the slot,”
said Iria, a second time Governor.

A week ago,  Governor Iria kicked off his Presidential
Campaign Strategy through branding of vehicles
donated by hundreds of his supporters, as his Usawa Kwa Wote Party has a
target to register more than four million members by December.

Last week,  Billionare
Maina Wanjigi, an ally of ODM leader
Odinga, speaking from Nyeri said he will be on the ballot.
