DCP Leader Rigathi Gachagua was surprised in Murang’a after the host Governor Irungu Kang’ata facilitated the mounting of a guard of honour.
The guard of honour was the first of its kind since Gachagua’s impeachment, as other leaders concentrated on playing politics, while Kang’ata demonstrated respect.
It was also respectable that Kang’ata hosted the opposition leader in his office and briefed him on the strategies employed by his administration.

“ I am feeling appreciated by Murang’a people after they attended all the meetings that were planned for the days starting with the official launch of the DCP office in Murang’a town,” said Gachagua.

In the social media platforms, Kenyans expressed joy as Murang’a became the first to give Gachagua a heroic welcome.
Kang’ata, in his address, appreciated efforts made by the DCP leader in Murang’a owing to his humbleness and calmness in listening to the plight of the locals.
“ I am assuring the DCP leader that Murang’a people will rally behind him, after realization of his development and political agenda,” said Kang’ata.

Other leaders who accompanied Gachagua included MPs Joseph Munyoro, Chege Njuguna, Njeri Maina, and senators Joe Nyutu, Karungo wa Thang’wa among others
