Disconnect of the two daughters leave Kirinyaga county in confusion
The Mountain Journal
Battle for political supremacy has erupted in Kirinyaga between Mumbi daughters fighting for United Democratic Party (UDA).
The simmering battle emerged after Kirinyaga Governor Mumbi Waiguru and Kirinyaga MP Wangui Ngirichi who are fighting for recognition by UDA leader and Deputy President William Ruto.
Ngirichi in the past three weeks has avoided being near public meetings convened by Ruto unlike in the past where she was all over attacking that mudslinging the UDA squad.
The deputy President has been in Murang’a sub counties of Kigumo and Maragua and expected to be in Mathioya on Monday.

The sworn enemies are eying for the governorship position on UDA ticket, with allies of Ngirichi pointing an accusing finger at Ruto for allowing Waiguru in the party she was among the founder members.
“ Am weighing options as a politician, “ said Ngirichi when reached for comments.

Waiguiru said she was in UDA to stay while urging Ngirichi to be ready for a stiff competition.
“ Am ready to face her in the governor’s election and don’t fear where she will be politically. Kirinyaga people told me to move to UDA,” said Waiguru.
Exit of Waiguru from Jubilee Party saw Kirinyaga leaders appointing Senator Charles Kibiru their spokesman.
The Mathioya meeting has been postponed following a communication from the DP strategists
