Coffee auction earns farmers Sh704 million

The coffee market during the weekly auction netted Sh 704 million after the sale of 11,179 bags of coffee.

The payment was less compared to last week’s Sh 915.4 million following the auction of 15,582 bags of the commodity.

It was the first auction in the year 2025/2026, after the year 2024/2025 was closed on September 30

The Nairobi Coffee Exchange (NCE) report indicated that Alliance Berries Limited sold the highest volume of 2,922 bags that netted Sh 178.3 million, followed by the New KPCU 2,926 bags for Sh 175.6 million.

The reports indicate that Mulima factory under Kikima society brokered by New KPCU achieved the highest price of Sh66,951 per bag of grade AA, followed by Jayden Estate grade AA marketed by Alliance achieved the second best price of Sh63,714 bought by Kenyacof.

Kiangua Society coffee brokered by CEBBA traded at Sh 62,937 per bag.

NCE report stated 12 coffee brokers participated in the market followed by 16 local and international coffee dealers.

The coffee brokers offered a total of 1,024 bags of grade AA that fetched Sh76.5 million and 3,953 bags of AB for Sh249.9 million, the report detailed.

“Ibero Kenya bought 2,514 bags, C.Dormans 2,234 bags, Louis Dreyfus 1,531 bags,Taylor Winch 1,328 bags,” added the report.

Other coffee brokers were CEBBA 608 bags, Kipkelion 944 bags, Kirinyaga Slopes 581 bags, Murang’a 265 bags, among others.
