Nairobi County Assembly buys Sh33m mace

Despite the prevailing economic times, Nairobi County Assembly has acquired a new mace at Sh33 million.

The mace weighing 11 kilogrammes was unveiled this week by speaker Stephen Ng'ondi, when several operations were grounded due to a lack of finances.

Nairobi MCAs have said they cannot carry out their oversight responsibilities, as allowances are not forthcoming. Vehicles are grounded due to lack of fuel.
